This week I have been focusing on the foundations of my final major project. With test work out the way it's time to focus on my final imagery.
Working as a freelance photographer in a commercial studio for my placement and going onto studying my final year has given me the opportunity to develop and refine my photographic skills. This has given me the inspiration to produce unique commercial concepts to drive forward in the production towards the my final major project.
Having worked on live briefs previously that involve room sets, still life and editorial shoots, it has given me the desire to specialise my practice towards luxury goods where I am currently focusing on designer merchandise, marketed for men.
It is my goal to convey a product’s functionality and character in my images to respond to the brief set by the client in my own photographic style that I have developed.
In this photograph of Sauvage, Dior my main focus was to play with the fragrances main character which was masculinity a quote from the Dior website about the aftershave was:
"Sauvage. Surging guitar riffs. A dizzying night-time dive into Los Angeles. The absolute need to leave everything behind. Flee the urban rat race, the vanity of city life. Drive into the desert, trusting the road. Rediscover your wild nature" – Sauvage.
It was this night-time connotation that I used black paint to represent this "drizzled" black night.
