Today we had the chance to listen to multi award winner and documentary photographer, Jack Latham. He discussed his work first hand through a Skype call presenting his two main projects, A Pink Flamingo and Sugar paper theories.
Jack graduated from the documentary photography course at Newport University. He has explored different photography medium including large format and digital film which has given him the chance to build two solid projects that have been published into books. Not only has Latham produced these award winning books but has also exhibited this work internationally.
Alongside these projects Latham also has a scanning and printing service, Divebar printing.
The talk was really useful to get to know how Latham produces his work and what problems he faced and how he overcame them. Not only did he talk about the highs of photography but also discusses his struggles to produce work which gave me a real eye opener into the industry of documentary photography.
