Today was the third work in progress show in the CAD building of The University Of Huddersfield.
I have exhibited the part 1 of Grandma's House.
GRANDMA’S HOUSE – JOSHUA WILDE
This project is a two-part fashion collaboration responding to a final graduate collection by Louise Wheatcroft who graduated from the University of Huddersfield in 2015. The collection is inspired by her Grandmother’s exploring her working life, her role as a Mother and housewife.
Louise has retrieved archive material such as old photographs and prints combing these elements within her collection. From the outset we wanted to create a contemporary Kitsch look within the styling and makeup to construct fashion lifestyle images to recreate components from her Grandmother’s living room.
These elements were merged by the room set and fashion lighting techniques I have refined throughout University and placement and appropriating art direction from Charlie Engman’s “MOM” series which has produced some distinct images of my own style that have broadened my commercial photographic practice.
